One of the standout features of Bookmer is the ability to set your own background wallpaper — adding a truly personal touch to your workspace.
Ways to Access the Wallpaper Editor
There are several ways to open the Wallpaper Editor, depending on your preference:
-
Right-Click Anywhere
Simply right-click on an empty space in the interface and select “Edit Wallpaper.” This is the fastest way to get started.
-
Via the Main Menu
Click the menu icon (top right) → go to “Settings” → then select “Wallpaper.”
This brings you to the same Wallpaper Editor.
Using the Wallpaper Editor
Once inside the editor, you’ll see:
-
A preview of your current wallpaper at the top.
-
Click the preview or the image icon to open a popup window for selecting a new background.
Here’s what you can do:
-
Choose from built-in wallpapers.
-
Search for images within the interface.
-
Upload your own image.
-
Import from an external URL.
Advanced Customization Options
After selecting an image, you can fine-tune the visual style:
-
Blur Effect: Softens the image for a less distracting background.
-
Dim Effect: Lowers brightness for better contrast with content.
-
Navigation Transparency: Adjust how transparent nav elements appear.
-
Text Color: Manually set the color for UI text and icons (especially helpful when text clashes with a bright or busy background).
Dynamic Wallpapers for Dark Mode
A special highlight:
You can also set a separate wallpaper specifically for Dark Mode.
-
When users switch to Dark Mode, the wallpaper automatically changes to your selected Dark Mode version.
-
If no Dark Mode wallpaper is defined, Bookmer will simply retain the default background.
This feature is completely optional — but a great way to elevate your aesthetic experience across light and dark themes.
